Poetry Speaks for Us aims to increase excitement for writing, reading, and open mics in a supportive literary community within New York City's shelters, crisis centers, Public libraries, after-school programs, community centers, and bookstores.

Poetry Speaks for Us shares ideas, materials for writing, spoken word, art-making, warm-up activities, and excerpts from PSFU founder, Sally Jean DeJesus’ ongoing body of Work in Progress, including poems, non-fiction short stories, plays, art and spoken word visuals.
